Job DescriptionThe Center for Mind Body Medicine (CMBM) is a non-profit educational
organization dedicated to reviving the spirit and transforming the
practice of medicine. Based in Washington, D.C., the CMBM was founded
in 1991 by James S. Gordon, M.D. Dr. Gordon.
The Center for Mind body Medicine (CMBM), an international non-profit
organization in the West Bank and Gaza, is seeking Part-time qualified
candidate for the position of Accountant to be based in its office in
Gaza.
Accountant
The CMBM/Gaza Accountant is responsible for financial services of the
trauma healing program, such as the day-to-day accounting and financial
processes, and providing support to the Gaza Program Director.
Immediate Supervisor: Gaza Program Director
Specifically, the position is responsible for the following duties:-Preparing CMBM monthly & annual VAT reports;
-Assist in managing the accounting and financial operations for the
trauma healing project and other related projects, maintaining &
supervising all accounting records.
-Responsible for assuring full support documentation for project
transactions. Record transactions, prepare the journal & ledger,
and classify receipts and disbursements in accordance with the CMBM
Chart of Accounts;
-Provide assistance and in personnel related accounting and logistic matters;
-Demonstrated experience and skill with budget preparation and
analysis, financial reporting preparation and presentation and the
proven ability to translate technical financial data into informative
reports.
-Communicate with vendors regarding payment processing and arrangements
for requesting Zero VAT invoices for vendors and suppliers; and
-Other related accounting duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Required Skills:-Bachelor’s degree preferably in accounting, finance or business administration;
-At least two years of work experience, preferably in finance and accounting;
-Previous experience with accounting software—knowledge of Quickbooks
-Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English;
-Previous finance and accounting experience working with USAID projects preferred.
-Strong communication and customer service skills;
-Familiarity with MS Office software applications;
-Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills;
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team and be self-directed and motivated;
